RWD/RWE In Focus: Key trends at the IPhEB forum

At the XVI International Forum for Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology held in St Petersburg, the crucial role of Real-World Data (RWD) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) in the pharmaceutical industry was highlighted.

Daria Bychkova, Director of Strategic Partnerships for Medical Affairs and Ethics at the AIPM, emphasized the transformative power of these tools.
"RWD/RWE are becoming a key tool of modern pharmaceuticals, which allows not only to control the safety and effectiveness of therapy in real conditions, but also to significantly optimize the use of budget funds. It is especially important that these technologies help to implement the principles of personalized medicine and value-based healthcare. AIPM is actively developing this area, raising awareness of specialists about the role of RWE in modern medicine, increasing expertise within the industry, and improving the regulatory framework," emphasized Daria Bychkova.
Key areas of focus for RWE development include:
  • Strengthening regulatory frameworks in Russia and the EAEU
  • Building robust data infrastructure, such as registries and electronic medical records
  • Training qualified specialists
  • Integrating Russian research into global practices

The forum also featured contributions from the AIPM working group, including:
  • Alexey Alexandrovich Yunin, Head of the Medical Department for Healthcare Professionals at Eisai
