The Siberian State Medical University initiated a collaboration with the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, which brings together Russian and international pharmaceutical companies with offices in Russia. The aim of this partnership was to implement educational programs that would allow students to learn directly from industry leaders.

This collaboration aims to align the skills of future graduates with the needs of the industry. The participation of major players in the education process at Siberian Medical University will improve the quality of training.

During the meeting, representatives from the Association met with Evgeny Kulykov, the rector of Siberian Medical University. They also visited the university's technology center and preclinical research center, where new medicines are developed and research is conducted at a world-class level.
«It is a great honor and responsibility for us to be a partner of this Association, which unites world-famous companies. The pharmaceutical industry changes rapidly, and it's important for our students to graduate with a clear understanding of what's happening in this industry. By engaging the experts of the Association in the educational process, we create a bridge between theory and practice in the pharmaceutical industry, allowing our students to deal with real cases from the beginning, preparing them for participation in company projects after graduation», says Evgeny Kulikov, rector of Siberian Medical University.
The parties have already identified specific areas of collaboration that will make training as practical as possible. Representatives of pharmaceutical companies, for example, will be able to assess the quality of the training for future professionals. In addition, experts from industry will offer students topics for their theses based on real-world production tasks.
«The most valuable aspect of this partnership is the opportunity to sync industry demands with academic training. Companies in the Association have accumulated extensive experience, ranging from regulatory processes to bringing drugs to market. However, a methodical framework is needed to seamlessly integrate this experience, and the university plays an important role in this. We have seen the dedication and response of our colleagues from the Siberian Medical University regarding hiring graduates and supporting students, and I am confident our dialogue will lead to specific and productive projects that train specialists ready for the challenges of the pharmaceutical industry», — Daria Bychkova, Head of strategic partnerships at the Association for International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers.
Practical training occupies a special place in this agreement. Based on the Association's companies, it is planned to organise internships and training for students from the Siberian Medical University. This will be a path to employment for the most promising students in leading pharmaceutical companies.

The partners plan to develop new courses and modules to train specialists for specific business needs. They have agreed to hold regular meetings, conferences and roundtables to exchange experiences and align education with the demands of the growing pharmaceutical market.
